10/11/2008 · I had a similar issue, the v – band clamp was not sitting properly creating an exhaust leak , so what I did was grind down the turbine housing lip and the vband clamp lip. After the vband clamp sat properly, there was no more exhaust leak .

I assume I can tighten the V band to stop the leak but no idea of the torque spec. BMW (dealer) wants to replace the entire turbo and manifold even though the turbo works fine.
